"Not Really Allen" is hiding from the "Innocence Terminator" as it's trying to kill Nea, and Samurai Jackass managed to find him first. "NRA" decided that now in a open public area was a good time for an origin story, so we get dozens of chapters of basically filler.

The other "NRA"-friendly members of the Order managed to track him down, and have now decided to go to war against the Order as they figure they weren't given the whole story. They're also looking for a way to undo the "IT's" brainwashing that their friends in the Order were placed under.

I didn't dislike the flashback, in truth I quite liked it, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't already feeling burnout from it.

This chapter... this one is the first chapter in YEARS, that truly felt D.Grayman, and it is just the characters talking again.

But I really felt like one of the convergence points this story always had, when many of the things built during the arc come together and the characters again find their path through adversity.

And again, I won't lie... sometimes I feel that Hoshino-sensei should just leave it and retire, but... I am glad she is a tough cookie, she is still trying, and even with all the wait, I can see she still carries this story deep in her heart.

Now... to save Hitler.

I was 13 when I started this one... I am 30 now.

Welp, it's going be awhile until we see what is happening to the order with Allen's trip to uncover whatever happening with him. I do wonder what they'll uncover next but because how the series is, I bet I'm going to forget it

I think they were both the earl until he split himself into mana and nea (it was somehow implied somewhere before this flashback, where Allen was seeing the next place he should look). Now the earl is just a title for this two to fight over. But this is only based on my observation

I don't think the Earl's situation has been fully explained yet.
We know he was one man, and then split into twin boys. We don't know if there was an Earl active as the Twins were growing up, and we don't know why Mana "suddenly became an old man" (although I my theory is during the battle for the title of Earl, he lost his memories after he killed Nea because it was so traumatic).
For the time Mana was with Allen there was either no Earl or there was a "Fake Earl" acting in his place (I'm not sure if this is true or if this was something I made up but I'm pretty sure it was explained a while back)

My take on it is that both Mana and Nea can transform into the Earl by themselves, but since they don't have the other person something else is required to power the transformation. In this case it was Mana's memories, which bought him enough time to fight off Alexander Anderson and save Allen and himself.
