I got this from r/manga
Summary after D Gray Man Hallow up to this chapter in case anyone’s confused due to all of these long breaks:
Pretty much Allen is becoming a Noah because he is the host for the Fourteenth (Who on the surface seems like Duke of the Millenium's brother but also somehow Mana's brother who rebelled against all of the other Noah). Allen's awakening as a Noah catches the attention of this sentient Innocence called the Apocryphos (or Reaper). The Reaper is apparently with Central, which shows they are not what they seem. He wants to absorb Allen to prevent him from becoming a Noah and for other unknown reasons. He "kills" Link and attempts to absorb Allen. Tykki and Road come to save Allen, they escape the Order. However Road is severely injured and fades away to heal, and Allen and Timcanpy splits off from Tykki because Allen is an exorcist and he will deal with his identity as the 14th's host on his own. He leaves the Order and bids Lenalee farewell. He is chased by the Order, Noah, the Akuma, and the Apocryphos all over the world as his awakening attracts them. Allen spends his days making money as a clown like Mana.
In the meanwhile, Kanda comes back to life to help Allen. He and Johnny the Scientist betray the order to help Allen. Meanwhile, Allen starts becoming the 14th by the time they are reunited. The Earl of the Millenium attacks Allen and Johnny in a crazed state, as he sees their relationship being like Mana and Nea (the fourteenth) which he is jealous of. Allen becomes the 14th and discusses the biggest mysteries about the series to the Earl; he says the Earl is Mana, he is actually the one who raised Allen, and he and Nea were once the same being 7000 years ago. The Earl has no memory of this and he's confused how he can be Mana when he killed Mana. The Order interrupts and they are separated. The Fourteenth is then approached by Link, who turns out to be alive. Link says he wants to work with him. At the same time, Allen is fading away in the Fourteenth's memories but then with his conversation with Cross Marian (who he thought was a hallucination since he's supposed to be dead but apparently he might not be), Allen searches the 14th's memories and temporarily comes back to the present. Meanwhile Timcanpy (who turns out to be Nea's golem that was handed down to Cross Marian and then to Allen) is killed by the Apocryphos and Kanda discovers its existence. Kanda is then found by the order and he becomes a general to avoid being caught and to help Allen and brings him Timcanpy's remains. That was the end of chapter 228.
Now 229, we had Chaoji and Krowley (two exorcists) are searching for Allen, hear that he’s escaped, and hear that Kanda is back. Meanwhile, Allen, the General, Johnny, and Kanda are riding in a carriage (Allen and Kanda are in the back). Johnny and the General talk about the Apocryphos (an innocence taken human form that killed Timcanpy and attacked Kanda). Johnny also recounts that Link is alive. Allen is hearing them talk about the Apocryphos and he reflects on how the Order should not find out about the Human Type Innocence because then that waver their beliefs on the Order and God (since Innocence is EVILLLLLLLL mermaid man voice). He also reflects on how he should’ve never brought Timcanpy with him. He then has some childhood memories with Timcanpy AND Allen, Mana’s dog. Allen opens the Arc and solemnly says to the gang he can’t tell them anything afterall and tries to escape but Kanda goes into the Arc with him.
Current chapter, Allen and Kanda were transported to somewhere they don’t know. Johnny and Allen’s electric handcuffs comes off (the one Johnny put on Allen to prevent him from escaping) because Allen is too far. Kanda and Allen argue and fight, Kanda mentions how Johnny is now being hunted by the Order and he’s saying he’ll kill Allen if he doesn’t tell him anything. Allen basically tells him everything sadly. Then Allen says he can’t bring them back to the carriage because he doesn’t know where it was going. Allen realizes after seeing Mana’s engraving on a tree, presumably with the language he and Allen created (?), that they’re in the town where he met Mana and Allen the dog. This is where the story of Allen Walker began.
