Thanks for scanlating it until the end!

And yeah, it annoys me too when people yell "AXED!" like that. It feels like they weren't reading it at all, only focusing on the slightly lewd scenes.

There's no more content worth to explore, since the main issue was already solved (the main's couple issue with the girl's brother). The incestuous idol couple? Every time a chapter focused on them, I saw people complaining in the comments about this couple. The lesbian couple? This couple was already portraited as two people that want to be as discrete as possible about their relationship, so no need to explore it further.

All of the previous author's works are very short (excluding Oshibana!, which surpassed the 30th chapter mark). Their writing style resolves around characters with good communication, and being completely open about their issues with their significant others, so misunderstanding tropes or other cliches are inexistent or solved very quickly.

Plus, if the author is completely satisfied with short works like that, who are we to complain? We aren't paying anything to them, so we have no right to complain if this work is short or not. If they're happy with how the story turned out, I'm happy too.

It's really sad that this series ended while the one about the school's prince annoying best friend is ongoing. Should've been the opposite.

I can't believe I have to even clarify this but no this was not cancelled. You media literacy challenged gooners couldn't identify a natural narrative ending if you broke your nose walking straight into one.

What story is there left to tell? The central conflict is resolved. The entire premise. You even get a (pre) sex scene.

Dachi no Imouto was carrying Rakuen Le Paradis, the magazine it's serialized in so hard that the latest issue is getting review bombed on retailer websites by people saying all the good series (specifically mentioning Dachi no Imouto) are ending and they have no reason to buy anymore. So shut the fuck up about shit you have no clue about that can easily be fact checked, holy shit you people are annoying.

I regret scanlating this series in particular because it got popular (and horny) enough to attract this crowd of readers. I will stick to niche series that will filter out undesirables and offend most people who read it from now on.
What a quaint little series

I admit that after 3 months, I have completely forgotten about what this was about.

I'm happy for them/sorry for their loss?

You have a point that the main storyline has essentially achieved its goal but bro there are still so much to dig for. The idol couple drama? Sure they're determined to go forward and the rival is back down for now but then? The lesbian couple is content with keeping secret but it was like a side mention. There's so much potential here. Even if it's not axed, the mangaka really missed his money cow here considering this series carried the whole magazine like you said.
That doesn't work for every manga. I think this one was almost exclusively focused on the main couple, and the others were introduced in a way that may be used in a spin-off, since if they suddenly switched focus to them, then it's a different manga.

I'd rather have a manga that knows from the start where it wants to go and when it wants to end as opposed to yet another endlessly shambling zombie that feels like the end of each chapter isn't even fully decided by the time the first pages are already being drawn. Were there unresolved plot threads in this? Sure, but none of them really important. The main plot was resolved reasonably well with no real pacing issues, and that's what matters.

Look, we all grateful for scan and TL, obv, but why you have to cope so hard about the series being shut down prematurely?
Main conflict resolved? Ok, like who cares, Kaguya sama had a confession and carried on, had sex and carried on.
21 chapter is pretty low, consideting many subplot lines being abandond without resolution, and main couple didn't receving a proper amount of time to shine after their "resolution", its just one chapter "yeah, we dating, sex, the end".
Talk about rushed.

Given that this series was a sequel to a previous series in which several characters also appeared and that even plotlines from that series carried into this one haven't been fully fleshed out, i wouldn't be surprised to see another entry into this section of the author's universe emerge soon. (The other ongoing title in this world shows no signs of wrapping up soon, either.)

@Clarinet It annoys me, too, that many automatically associate an early ending with cancelation. It's as if the author planning to end their series at a specific albeit early point isn't in the realm of possibility.

... but please reconsider and keep working on Shima Tokio's stuff! I've been following her work since 7 Jikanme no Note, and that probably would not have been possible had it not been for you and the other folks in Haraguro. Thank you for all the hard work over the past few years!

Sex in the club room was unexpected
I take it you haven't read 7 Jikanme no Note? If you know, you know.

Yeah, you need to read more non-mainstream manga and understand that authors - not just their publishers - also have a say when they want to end their story.

there were a ton more plot points we didnt explore but other replies have already gone through them so i wont harp on that. i will say though, if scanlating this annoyed you that much, you should have just left it for someone else to pick up. people are going to have their opinions and what they find to feel like an axe may just feel like a good ending to you. ive read way to many manga to say that and abrupt ending right after the end of the main conflict doesnt feel like an axe/the author didnt feel like working on this manga anymore. honestly i would have at least liked a couple more chapters to resolve the other couples as well and not just feel like we left halfway through the other subplots.
