For a brilliant strategist, the guy is extremely dumb. Or he wants those soldiers dead

He doesn't necessarily want them dead, but given the fact that he thinks that the human supremacist ideology is damaging to their nation and that the soldiers are mostly made up of those who are particularly hardline human supremacists, he doesn't particularly care if they do end up dead.

Not sure we wana go about confusing the little ones by saying you can eat these humans, but those over there are friends. Better to just leave it some are bad guys that should be killed and not eaten. Sure it's not as fun, but much less likely to cause random bouts off dead friendlies.
Pretty sure if the army has a common uniform the lil' ones are gonna have an easy time telling friend from breakfast.

Looks like it’s going to be breakfast time next chapter. :dogkek:

David Attenborough voice: "And so, the struggle is over quickly. The humans, believing themselves to be the superior hunter, are too late to recognize the folly of their choice as they become fodder for the true apex predator of this wilderness. Life is cruel, but it also provides, and this gift of hearty breakfast ensure that the murder chickens will live to hunt another day. Such is the way of things."

You know, I've never seen the good guys spend the entire chapter thoroughly explaining their plan in detail...
That's because you haven't read Youjo Senki. So...many...chapters..of explaining plans.

On the note of Youjo Senki, unfortunately just opening a corridor isn't enough when reaching a location through hostiles. You could lose all your forces if the corridor collapses.

6500 forces vs 3500 in Prague, but how many are you keeping to hold the corridor open for supplies? How many are you planning on losing through the monster infested lands? Also, how are you planning on ensuring the duplicity is not discovered? Surely an "official merchant" is not enough for the communications of an entire frontier town.

Holding Prague gives "control" over the Heed Kingdom, but how exactly are you planning on exercising that control? Withhold monster materials? Say hello to the army of Heed while you need to carry supplies through a monster-infested wasteland. Not withhold materials? Then what control are you exerting, exactly.

I mean, they are antagonists here, but they are not really villains. The two nations seem to be in active conflict. And the strategist isn't even one of the human supremacists, he actively dislikes that mentality and view it as something to correct.
So really with a shift of which side your on, they can be good guys.
they are the bad guy since there's also no good reason to actually invade, even if it is to partially kill off the human supremacists.
It still involves innocent being killed for some political reason.

also this is in a place where monsters are a constant threat so they weaken that defence of it too.

I feel like taking an holding a city with only a 2x army size is small and this strategist isn't that good, at the very least the author isn't that good of a strategist. The idea of adventurers being called up or assisting the defense also seems to be absent from consideration.

And the greatest strategist shall soon learn that the true strongest race are the Cucco. Attack one and their vengeance shall be mighty.

I do like that this isn't played as outright evil for evil's sake but a realistic threat between nations. The strategist is doing his job of expanding his countries influence and wealth and view racism as a weakness and a threat to his country. Too bad the protagonist is on the other side so his plans are going down at the talons of the murder chickens.
