@mahtan Many things can be understood as rules without ever having been codified. The only difference is that someone who breaks unwritten rules is not a lawbreaker, and can often avoid serious repercussions with the excuse of "it wasn't written down anywhere".
Sometimes ignoring unwritten rules can be good, sometimes it might be bad or neutral.
