Hate to use that word but a minority of incels from United States, SEA and Chinese who apparently can't read shit and have the reading comprehension level of a fan of Chainsaw Man average fan isn't something I'd take seriously.

The "past doesn't matter" crowd weird me out a bit, but so does the "she has to be a virgin" crowd. It's ok to have a preference, but to disparage a manga just because the FMC is not a virgin is peak fedora behavior.
A huge percentage of the people who say "the past doesn't matter" in a manga context, are cucks who are absolutely thrilled that the FMC didn't lose her virginity to the MC, like Slyss, for example. Make no mistake about that xD.

wow 1 min ago!!! only 3 chapters left 😭
3 chapters split in 2 parts each one.
So, 6 raw updates left.

At this point, i have a real hard time deciding who was the bigger piece of shit in the Ashihara family... if Izami or Papa. Although there was something cruel in the way how Papa left them, the way they grew more estranged 'till the string was ripped apart felt too realistic. It all begins with one of the parts or both having less to no time for each other 'till the betrayals happen.

Truth to be told, i doubt Papa was the only one who NTR'd Izami. She also "entertained old men".

Now i can understand a little why Hizumi was, and still is like that with Shinba. She basically drives peopke away with her way of "helping" them graduate from being losers. Although the way Boyfriend-kun cucked and dumped Hizumi was also cruel, he literally went to the jugular with the way he depicted Hizumi's actions.

Maybe Shinba still being a virgin actually makes him the biggest loser in the relationship lmao, especially when it's already confirmed Hizumi already has experience (tbh, i already suspected that from the way she gave those french kisses). Iirc, being a virgin in Japan is like an insult for women

PD: Dad considering Hizumi a burden... Hizumi going "gomennasai, gomennasai..." Iwaba, i know you are heavily inspired by Ryou-sensei series, but at least you could have made the inspiration from BA's Mao & "Nagi"'s backstory less obvious. At least papa didn't make her daughter whore herself out to the showbiz so he could socially climb.

PD2: Kimetsu no Kaisen Chainsaw Family... hope Iwaba doesn't end up having Shueisha ninjas invade his house for the overly blatant reference to KnY, JJK, CSM and Yozakura Family.

PD3: ha ha

There's going to be an update on October 5 for the next chapter maybe?

It should go like this:

Sept. 19: Ch 30.1 raw
Oct. 2-9: Ch. 30.2 raw
Oct. 16-23: Ch. 31.1 raw
Oct. 30-Nov. 6: Ch. 31.2 raw
Nov. 13-Nov. 20: Ch. 32.1 raw
Nov. 27-Dec. 4: Ch. 32.2 raw (end)

Only september 19th release is confirmed at that date. The others are thresholds for every raw, unless Iwaba makes a final break before the final chapter parts.

they changed the date into Oct 3 instead of Sept 19. So we will be almost on a 1 month drought without updates.

Wow. Just wow.

So much to talk about here. Where do I even start?
Okay, first, her dad. Erm...he changed too much? In the end he looks like sleazy film director, and it's, erm, slightly unbelievable. What's even more unbelievable is that he left his daughter. I mean, his wife is meh but he actually loved daughter. To put it rudely, I understand why he got an affair, but I don't understand why wouldn't he at least try to take his daughter with him (I know, I know, it'd pose multiple different problems, but still). It's like, I don't know, he became inhumane or something.
As with her first boyfriend...hrm, Hizumi became desperate. To love unconditionally and be so clingy... I'd rather believe that she became apprehensive and stopped trusting men than this. It's especially jarring after she cut ties with Orochi. I'd rather she dated her than...that. I mean, men can't be trusted.
All in all, this is just a roller coaster clusterfuck royale. I can't say any more than "poor, poor people".

P.S. I want p.31 in color
I agree with you on both points. At the very least, instead of going for something more complex, the author just went for the route of "Look, Hizumi tried her best! But their true selves were just selfish assholes. Hate them! Hate them!"
Really, that's all there is to it?

The Dad's sudden change into the cliche asshole archetype was just jarring. The entire story beat with the ex was just unrealistic. You're telling me another girl went for that soft boy otaku loser? I fucking wish, LMAO. He wasn't a playboy, he was a nervous insecure kid. If anything, getting pampered should have made him entirely dependent on Hizumi leading to some other sort of fallout.

My final critique is that it was hinted throughout the series that Hizumi's treatment of Shinba was sort of a mix between the two extremes that were her treatment of the other two guys in her life. Hizumi gave Shinba equal parts support and disparage to keep him in her Goldilocks zone. I think it would have been a lot more interesting thematically to lean into that:

1. Hizumi supported her dad, so he left her because he felt had potential and his family was dragging him down. This is 100% the Dad's fault, but there is a hidden blame on Izumi. However, Hizumi is 0% at fault here, but she blames herself when the hidden fault lies with Izumi for stunting the Dad's growth and being unsupportive in the firstplace.

2. Hizumi finds someone and tears them down to ensure they never leave. That person's self-worth is obliterated and see themselves as holding Hizumi back from her potential, so they leave her. Alternatively, something or someone makes them realize they are not worthless, stand up to Hizumi, and leave. Either way, Hizumi is 100% at fault here.

In Hizumi's obsession with not repeating her father's departure, she inadvertently repeated her mother's mistake.

I think going this route would have been a lot more interesting, but I am not a writer, so...

At this point I don't know why Hizumi's hymen status is relevant to the story and I'm afraid to ask.
With 3 chapters left, I hope it's headed to a good end.
I wouldn't be surprised if everything comes to light and the MC breaks up with her. We have a timeskip, she is living a quiet life alone and depressed and the MC returns, quite leveled up, no longer a loser, and snatches her away. Like "look at me. I'm no longer a pathetic loser. And yet I still love you." Wouldn't be brilliant, but also not too bad considering the sheer quantity of manga with totally butchered endings.

Well, the author herself has chosen to place importance on virginity on several occasions, especially in ch 26.

As for their relationship, they won't break up. Shinba promised her he would never do anything to make her cry, and the manga is about how Shinba and Hizumi learn to build a healthy relationship based on true love. In fact, Shinba explicitly told Hizumi, "I will always be by your side."

And it was in tragic way it was preparing us for the obvious.

People say that kind of things to each other all the time only to do exactly the opposite. Slowly but surely, Shinba is growing and I think that the manga could very well go the way I described it. Him, breaking up if he believes that would be the best for her.

We just have to see what happens.
