Sometimes I myself forgot, just how old us millennials are. Mom dressed like late 90's or 2000's gyaru, son at first year of high school. Assuming mom had him at around reasonable 20-27 year old range, she'll be 35-42 year old... and totally around my age, and was probably around the same age as Kotobuki Ran from late 90's manga, "Gals!"
