Don't wanna start a whole debate about it, but being a woman still comes with a lot of nasty downsides. Even in developed countries ladies have got it rough.
this might just be me being extremely cynical and naive but in modern times a some of the struggles that women face sounds to me like "first world problems" in comparison to what men have to deal with:
  • Being falsely accused of r*** because a woman thinks your ugly or whatever and EVERYONE immediately believes them and you get fired from your job and everybody hates you and sends you death threats
  • get r** as a LITERAL minor in the United States by a Adult female and she can get away with it and can SUE YOU FOR F*CKING CHILD SUPPORT WHEN YOU TURN 18(source: Hermesmann v. Seyer court case), yes you heard that right a man can be PUNISHED, yes PUNISHED for being a VICTIM of Child R*
  • face literal misandry and everybody is perfectly okay with it
  • get longer prison times in comparison to woman
look I am not a misogynist, I don't hate women or anybody else, I despise bigotry in every form, I just wish people took EVERYONE's struggles seriously, that's MY wish: for everybody to be at piece with each other, yes that sounds very naive and I don't have the power to change things but I'm just so tired of the toxicity in the world

oh and sorry for bringing all this up I know you didn't want to start a debate so I'm just gonna stop now

I'm not saying those aren't serious issues, but it's pretty unhinged to dismiss the struggles women face as just "first world problems".

that's why I said "some" and like I said I might just be very cynical and naive, anyway we really should stop here, or else this entire comment section will be 1000 pages long filled with drama and I don't think anyone wants that

edit: oh and yeah in hindsight calling those "first world problems" seems pretty harsh

I think it will just be a promo illustration for the new volume. Just like it was for the 1st volume.
That sucks. I get she is finalizing the new volume, but the new chapters have been taking longer to upload than usual. The underwear acceptance chapter is one i have been anticipating.

Certainly not first world problems.

1 in 3 women has been victims of sexual violence, even in the US (WHO).

Women still perform a larger share of unpaid work (domestic work, for example), whilst still doing paid work (OECD).

Women still have disparities in how they are treated in healthcare, like pain bias, limited access to essential services and even research (as women are generally under-represented in clinical trials, despite being literally half of the population. Example study of this issue is Zuker and Prendergast, 2020), which is obviously a huge oversight which leads to decreased effectiveness in interventions and even misdiagnosis, which is obviously a HUGE gap in care.

Adding onto the health services part, even when women do have access to reproductive health care and services, most of the burden falls onto them, in terms of time, financial burden, physical health, mental burden and autonomy.

Whilst what you have listed is valid, and definitely super horrible, this really is a false equivalence (except for the last one you listed, because that consistently higher, compared to women) , because these issues are not systemic, population level issues that affect all men. The court case you mentioned is definitely worth discussing, because it is fucking disgusting, but is it really proof of a systemic issue that regularly punishes male victims on a national scale?

I think you could have mentioned how men have far higher suicide deaths, how men have now been falling short in terms of education, how fathers often lose custody, and how sexual violence against men and boys is not taken seriously. In general, your points were valid, but they needed to be framed differently (not men vs women, or the slight implication that society is anti-male), because the issues women face are complementary problems, where they often share the same root cause, but they are expressed differently and often mutually reinforce each other (i.e lack of affordable childcare makes it harder for women to work, which reinforces the idea that men should be breadwinners, which encourages riskier jobs and discourages caregiving roles). Also, whilst I did it as well, in general we shouldn't be treating men and women as monoliths, because these issues can be exacerbated by other parts of their identity, like their class, race, sexuality and disability.

Shit is hard, I hate wicked problems

I see, well thanks for your input, I didn't know that the rate of females who have been sexually assaulted was that high,
but is it really proof of a systemic issue that regularly punishes male victims on a national scale?
I did mention that that court case was in the US, specifically Kansas, but after thinking about it, yeah I do agree with you on that

Whilst what you have listed is valid, and definitely super horrible, this really is a false equivalence
yeah it probably is, I'm not an expert nor claim to be an expert, and even then I rarely research enough

In general, your points were valid, but they needed to be framed differently
yep definitely, I suck at this stuff

anyway, I have a bad habit of not thinking and just doing things impulsively, this all started because I read a comment that didn't mean any harm and caused my autistic brain to rant for no reason

btw if your wondering yes I am autistic, I also have ADHD, I was diagnosed like 10 years ago
