I had some slight hope when I saw the title of the chapter in my feed, but judging from the comments this is still being dragged out just as when I dropped it after the fight with the Chinese boy. And, even if I had the inclination to read it, I'd have to look for it elsewhere since they removed most of the manga from here and, quite frankly, I cannot be bothered to do a simple search for it. Another battle shounen dropped. At this point I don't think I'll ever finish one in my entire life.

So, you are going by only comments and not reading it yourself. You've missed three minor arcs that had their own important points, nothing is being "dragged out".

Taisan's little speech to Ai was great.

Also I'm surprised Oboss seems a lot more down to earth now, I'd have imagined he'd keep his 'untouchable' air a bit longer.

He's smart. Being untouchable made Yayoi hate him so he's now trying to be friendlier. That and anybody would be shocked if they learned about the Kyoto-wide curse circle. This stuff is magical equivalent of trying to do precise sniping with a WMD.

the egg part reminds me of yu yu hakusho where yusuke was provided his own egg that hatches as a familiar.. hopefully same thing would happen to yayoi
