Chapter ends and some dumb, large part of me is hoping that the goal doesn't get disallowed.

Because of Mizuki? And his high jump kick? Doubt it will be disallowed but heck this author seems to lack some fundamental rules.

When it comes to soccer manga they tend to struggle with showing us the right perspective when a rule is broken. (usually offsides, they are really bad at showing us the POV we need to see them)

Also when it comes to this manga Seiseki gets dicked a lot despite how successful they are. (Hokutou match was rotten to the core) Tsukushii's efforts against Touin (I think) were ruined by the whistle being blown against him. I remain suspicious up until the goal is confirmed.

Why would the goal be disallowed?

It bounced of Marco so that cancels out offside (if the opposition player touches it, it’s not offside anymore.

I believe Mizuki was onside anyways, he wasn’t in the prior frames and then came from behind Marco.

Did the author even realize that Mizuki's jump are pretty impossible to do?

2 legs up more than 1,5m high, the f is that bullshittery. Horizontal jump even

Just scores from normal angle can you? This chapter makes me cringe more than any other chapters before

It's a manga, actions are embellished to create a better story. You guys nitpick too much about a great moment. If you want realism, go watch real football.

@bboymo

if i want a non-realism football, i would rather read Inazuma eleven. But Days is written as a non-superpower and logical sports manga, yet the author this time straying away from his own path

You called us nitpick too much, yet you don't know shit about sports manga (or even sports in general). You must be one of those people that want Daiya no A having a super-fireball pitch, or Baby Steps having OP moves like Prince of Tennis

@Duckiedoggo

So you attack me personally saying I don't know anything about sports manga? He didn't fly 20 feet into the air to make a shot, he made a large jump. Manga is always going to be exaggerated to provide emphasis and excitement to a moment. Get your head out of your own ass and read the manga for what it is. Entertainment for the fans.

About the legal aspect of the jump, just think of Ibrahimovic who has scored some similar goals in his career.
So yeah, I'm with bboymo on this one, it might have been a bit eggagerated but it's not as impossible as the others might think it is.

okay everyone who thinks is an unrealistic goal should stfu for a moment.
the view is from the bottom, while the crossbar is at 2,44m. we can assume that mizuki's upper body is between 1,6m and 2,0m above the ground while doing a regular side-volley kick. taking in account that he came running and jumping full-speed, it would be weirder if he did not jump high and attempted a side-volley.

and to those who think it might be called off:
nitobe clearly crossed the ball when mizuki was behind him. there is absolutely nothing that could possibly be called off

I think it just a mistake to draw crossbar too short in the next panel mizuki not jump too high from the ground
