I'm honestly really pleased how well the WN and LN versions of Satou deal with slavery. It's not the 'Oh well, I guess they enjoy life like this,' that it is in the anime. He actively works against slavery in general and to try to free the girls with him, which I don't think is a spoiler by this point in the story.

That said, in both the WN and LN,

the White Tigers in general mostly serve as a demonstration of what the various 'Liberty' groups Satou's group encounters are doing and what the Weasel Empire is capable of.
