Since it's Satou he'll probably catch the sword barehanded and just try to brush it off as part of one of his martial arts skills, instead of it being the fact that he's over 300 levels higher than all 5 of the other people there combined.

If it's Satou then I don't need to worry. What can they do to him? 🤣

By the way, it's been a long time (for me) to see heated comment section appeared again.

Keep it going guys! 😉

We haven't met a single temple knight that isn't loud or hotheaded. Sera is constantly telling them to shut up it seems. First in the important council meeting and then again while listening to Mia play music.

@flannan the way the chapter describes their position as apprentice temple knights does not automatically mean that they are not also imperial knights. The previous chapter led us to believe the senior knights were only temple knights before Sera stated otherwise.

But with the way she behaves, you'd think she skipped the religion lessons

Isnt that the point? Along with her knowledge of the oracle's secular life and gushing praise of it, would be enough to imply at the very least the female knight is or was affiliated with the dukedom's Imperial Knights. I wouldnt be surprised if it was revealed that the female knight was a childhood retainer, you know the typical trope in these cases.

Now Sera may care for children, but it's not established how she feels about beastkin. Her surprise at seeing Pochi and Tama were beastkin could indicate that she has the same prejudices...or not. Likely we'll see it next chapter or so.
I suspect she also makes the "earkin = hero's companions" association.

the way the chapter describes their position as apprentice temple knights does not automatically mean that they are not also imperial knights.
If I understand it correctly, "imperial knights" means "elite bodyguards". Like Praetorians. Not a position one switches out to become a temple knight. Unless they were personal bodyguards of Sera and keep doing that even after she joined the Church.

It seems that the text suggest you can hold both positions, at least for the Tenion temple. That also implies that the Dukedom has a close relationship with the temple, given shes the granddaughter

Unless they were personal bodyguards of Sera and keep doing that even after she joined the Church.

Again that might have been the intention given how the female knight praises Sera, addresses her as "princess" and reacts to "rude" behaviour to her.

Ah yes, attack the person who save the city single handedly, is a hero and defeated a dragon by himself and help killed a demons is a true hero.
Also, who has just become a noble and a soon to be earl is in his depth too. Why? To "save" a priestiess who is an ex noble for a mouse carrying kids'cause she got a bit scared of their catch.

What the fuck, none of the knights brought with the priestess have a hint of a brain in their heads? First the ones at the baron's meeting, and now this.

Japanese impression of knights or anyone in a position military position are pretty low, except samurais, those guys are super honorable like japanese iron and chopsticks (which is pretty disgusting considering they have a word for what they do https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsujigiri )...
No bodyguard of any class would swing there sword at the one they deem an enemy while he is so close to the one they are to protect. Instead it would be a grappling match to separate the two before taking an edge weapon out. Otherwise they may harm the one theyre trying to protect.

@GrimGriefer Except these are fledgling knights from the church, so they seem to be spoiled brats with no brains whatsoever. They've probably never had a real bodyguard assignment.
