I'm trying to continue through the novel, but I can't for the life of me find what chapter this is supposed to be. Is this manga-only or something?

Seeing how the action shots are framed and how dynamic some of the angles are, when this gets an anime adaptation it better have some Mushoku Tensei production values. I will not forgive any studio that animates the Desert Merrow in anything BUT 2D.
I can already picture it moving with this weight and fluidity that sells the scale of this battle.

this arc is manga original, Lycoris was introduced in a single chapter in the WN

I'd say to read from the beginning bc of all of the changes in the manga, but Lycoris is introduced in chapter 27 (I think) if you just want to skip there.

Odd how much is different, but I really like this arc so far so I'm not sure it's worth reading the first draft over the rewrite

My favorite instance of cheesing a difficult boss fight was in Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn. Final battle was like 1 vs. 3 against max level Muso Gundams 1, 2 and 3. Knew there was no way in hell I was going to be able to pull that off through legitimate skill.

So I slapped some upgrades on the Deathscythe Hell that gave me effectively nearly unlimited cloaking and also let me automatically charge up my special attacks without having to do normal attacks, and just wore all three bosses down with hit and run tactics. Hide in stealth, unload all my special once it's fully charged, then run and hide in stealth again. Turns out the AI was completely helpless against attacks it couldn't see coming.
