I like the educational aspect of this case, but it feels kind of... too educational. I miss action and proper suspense.

When I first read this chapter, I was surprised how swiftly the WPS solved and explained the mysteries behind the strange phenomena going on in that house. They really did pay attention in school.

This is the most illegal investigation ever. Idk if they'll address it in the next chapter wince they are still trainees but with all they've done there's no way to prosecute the criminals now.

All the more reason why it's cool to see Ran still use her flipphone instead of a smartphone in present day.
It's actually a real trend in Japan, some of the younger generation have switched back to flip phones (aesthetic preference and/or to counter social media addiction). Just bear in mind Japanese flip phones are far better than what you'll find elsewhere (quality and features), in fact they're really popular outside of Japan too. Look up 'dumbphones' to for more info on the topic.

I've watched a couple of videos of modern flip phones in Japan and damn, I had no idea they legitimately sell high quality flip phones like this video example.

They look cool, but I wish those slider keyboard phones still have a large audience somewhere. I still have my old one that I used in my high school days. I became an avid texter thanks to having a physical keyboard, haha. Too bad by the time I broke my slider phone, those types of phones fell out of favor.

Knowing that they're actually selling weed makes it hella obvious why the electricity bill is so high. It's nice to be given a perk of being non-Japanese reader once in a while.

What the... Smartphone already exist when shinichi in elementary school?! What a mind blowing

It's so weird to think that in the late 90s when this manga started they didn't even have cameras on phones, and mobile phones were too expensive for a kid to have then unless you were a spoilt child or had rich parents. That's why the Detective Boys badges were "invented"; it would have seemed unbelievable for a group of little kids to have mobiles, but walkie talkies seemed plausible so give them a few more functions like trackers and make them compact and you can get around that.

If time had run normally or stopped for the manga, rather than being set perpetually in the present no matter how many birthdays, white days, Valentine's days and Christmases that happen, then Shinichi and Ran would have been in primary school in the late 80s/early 90s and they'd be in their early 40s now.

Uh... in the manga there were only 1 of those special days.
The last special day that sill has to be covered is Ran's birthday.
