Yes I also ship Akemi x Akai... even if there's an off chance they were cousins... ._. but I feel that Jodie just feels like an obsessive girlfriend that just can't get over a breakup after so long and to be truthful, Akai deserves someone like Akemi xD
Anyways yeah I agree that Shuukichi is freaking damn smart. Other than James (FBI head) and Conan (and his parents), I doubt Akai would let anyone else know that he was alive, if it would risk them being targeted by BO (like Sera). So it's more likely Shuukichi figured it out himself. I think this case pretty much shows this and how Shuukichi's mind can match up to Akai's if he wants to. But for only Shuukichi to not know about his mother's whereabouts is strange :/ Even Sera knows.. Did Sera never tell Shuukichi after how much they get in contact?

Does anybody else find it weird that Shuukichi is not at all surprised to see Conan with his supposedly dead big brother??? Does he know Conan’s true identity?

@Sherlock2020 remember way back when Masumi send Conan's photo to someone and that someone replied back calling him a wizard? That someone was shukichi. So yes, he does know who Conan is. But i wonder whether he knows anything about aptx.

@okabekudo Jodie and Akai did date. In one of her canon flashbacks (the anime fillers never count) Akai broke up with Jodie inside a car and said he wasn't able to love two women at the same time, meaning he was dating Jodie before getting to know Akemi and falling in love with her during a goddamn BO infiltration mission. Akai has always loved Akemi, and what he's currently doing means to protect Akemi's sister. There's no romantic chemistry between Akai and Ai either; it's fittingly dry and full of past regrets. Both of them are still mourning for Akemi and neither wants to replace nor forgets her.
It's funny that you find Jodie ugly but Kogoro and the anime are actually up there IMO.

I also highly doubt Haibara would want to date someone who's responsible for her sister to lose favor within the BO and was ultimately murdered by them.

Good dynamic with Conan and Akai. Too bad Akai will most likely leave Japan after the BO has been dealt with.
