Ah, the Big Tech reward system. You do all of the dangerous work, with no training or information, and a pennyfarthing shall be yours.

so he traveled to another world, fought a battle almost dying and in the end all he gets is one shitty gold coin? what's that going to be worth? it's no early currency so at best it could be sold to a collector at worst melted down and sold. either way it's so not worth it

What a shitty tutorial, the game has such a steep learning curve! 4/10 to much air.

That 99% penalty for it being the tutorial is pretty heavy, but we still dont know if the pay its gonna be worth his effort in next missions.

How's he even gonna use that gold coin? Sell it to a pawn shop?

Or is this a trap game where you use coins to improve your character to earn more gold coins in and endless loop till you die(old age or otherwise). I mean, it IS called a "job".

The most interesting part ? They mentioned finding something that would fit everyone's potential.

That's what they found for him. Unless of course they give that sort of tutorial to everyone at first.

A quick internet search valued gold coins from 40 to 1000+ Euros, depending on the coin. So maybe not too bad for a day's work, maybe less than minimum wage, depending.

Though if you multiply it by 100, that goes to way too high for a guy like Parsons to earn. The economy of that thing's completely out of whack.

On another note, I wonder if the tutorial thing means that, looks aside, the MC was never in any danger?

The author or artist don't even know how medieval mercenaries look like and organized, they're seasonal warrior, not some pity farmers playing part time job. Why most mercenaries wear no helmet and only boss has metal chest armor, while the rest only have gambersons. Also assault castle without archer support bis dumb as f.

@Panzercracker Well they did lose half their men. Not every "mercenary" band was good or well outfitted from the start. Sometimes you would have a peasant style militia going to war out of desperation. They would obviously not fair super well but if they did they could get gear.

Also metal may just be rarer in that area. The scarcity of materials causes different choices after all. A good gambeson would be more than enough though. Helmets might not be a good idea but even today there are people who are insane enough to go bare headed into battle. We really don't know the circumstances is all im saying. Where they are, who they are and what they are fighting for, it all makes a difference.

Regardless these guys seemed like the cheaper side of the mercenary coin.
