Does anyone actually have a childhood friend with an unrequited love relationship?

no, I'm being serious

I never thought about love when I was a child, and never thought of love when I was a teen as well

when I became a full-fledged adult, I briefly thought about love, but those thoughts got buried by other events happening in my life

even if I met a girl way back when, I barely even remember her face nor her name, let alone how I felt about her

I didn't care about love back then, and I don't care about it now
I touched a guard boob 7 years 9 years ago, but that is not love.

Or is this just something that happens in Japan? We need to find this out!
There are almost no children in Japan so this is pure fantasy in their part. Probably the centenarians have experience childhood friend romance and their stories were being retold by these black company slave workers.

I turned two down in elementary. One was a childhood friend, the other was more like an acquaintance.
The childhood friend was in a multitude of relationships after that, and the acquaintance none but never tried to woo me again seriously.
So no unrequited love involving a cf for me.

There was a girl in my middle school who lived within 3 minutes of my house (in America, so driveable.) She dated my friend in the first year of middle school but dumped him for seemingly no reason. I didn't find out until years later from him that she liked me, dumped him because she liked me, but never shot her shot because thought I was gay.

Now I'm in college and have moved.
NO clue what happened to her.

I remember this one goth girl in elementary that disappeared after the first few months of middle school. I didn't have a crush on her back then but there was a goth girl i did had a crush on during college and looking back it might've been the same person.

I may never know if it was considering i got dismissed after two semesters lol

Kind of had something like that when I was a kid. There were two sisters that my brother and I use to be really good friends with when we were children. Our parents worked together and we got along really well pretty much all of out lives. We went to school together all the way through to the end of high school and there were a lot of chances to start dating (the younger sister) and things like that, but we never did. Pretty sure neither of us were against the idea, but knowing each other and being friends for almost our entire lives was a hurdle too large to overcome for anything to happen.

After high school, we go out separate ways and only see each other occasionally and things are fine. Well, that was until a couple years back. Going with the trend on most of the people I grew up with, she died from an overdose and it was pretty sad to hear about.

Don't do drugs kids.

I had a childhood friend whose parents were friends of my parents, and she would stay with my family after school until her parents got off work.

We got into a lot of hijinks together and I think we had a mutual crush on one another at that age, but we both didn't realize what it meant. Her dad and my dad were eventually assigned to different military bases, and we all ended up moving away from one another (though my parents and her parents stayed in contact).

We met again for the summer after we both graduated high school. Her family decided to stay with us for a vacation. We ended up reconnecting and had a bit of a summer fling, culminating in the two of us sleeping with one another while trying to hide it from our respective parents.

Unfortunately, that was the last we saw or talked to one another as we both started university. From what I heard from my parents is that she eventually met someone in university, married him, and now they have a child together.

It's not unrequited in the conventional sense, but I did think we got along well enough that I thought we could have stayed together if our circumstances hadn't been so different.
