I was right, the reason really was even stupider than could be thought up.

Welp, see you soon Riri.

Aaahhh I love Karin, but if the reveal is too sudden😭😭😭

Would've been nice if we're shown Karin's feelings and stuff

I get the feeling that when Karin does graduate, she goes to Maria, they make out but she’s not satisfied with Maria.. The plot is too focused on Maria being the final one but such a plot would reveal that the destination is not satisfying but the journey is..

Well Mei was eaten her, even if her priority  was cake(I respect that).
I need Riri to stay in the running. I adore Maria but i need Riri to stay with Mei, please!

I’m honestly disappointed in this resolution for Karin. Some people are poly, and that makes them a tough fit for mono folk. I’d be much more satisfied with that being the reason for Karin dropping out than this “I’ve been sublimating my pure desire for maternal affection into hypersexuality and hedonism” thing that we’ve gone with instead.
It almost feels like they author is skirting between mono and poly, while making Maria the 'target', yet never actually ruling out the other girls from the picture, worse of both worlds.

Despite the obvious and widespread fascination in manga with non-monogamous situations, they almost always chicken out because they assume the Japanese population won't accept anything but a monogamous outcome.

The exceptions are fairly niche manga, or isekai fantasies where it's okay to break assumed social norms because it's another world.

It's interesting how cheating actually occurs widely in Japan and is somewhat expected/accepted, yet ethical non-monogamy still appears to be a foreign concept. Despite the fact that stories dancing around with it are very popular.
