It's a fair argument. If he wants them to believe in him, he should believe in them. A lot of heroes are hypocritical about that. But then, the story usually favours them and forgets about that discrepancy.

This arc needs to end now. I said last chapter (piece) that I cared about what was happening with Reina but honestly now I don't. I just want it to stop and move on to the next thing that's actually fun.

It's hilarious that from the standpoint of what's happening in the story this should be the biggest stakes thing to occur since the plot began and the protagonist was exiled to this island, but this is pretty much the absolute least I have ever cared about anything happening in this story since the very beginning. I have generally quite liked most of what's happened in here (mild annoyance at Reina's magic age-up also making her just look human because that's goddamn boring.) but this is just like the author found some DBZ fanfiction they wrote in high school in a box and crammed it right into the middle of this book just to see if anyone notices.
