Yes, this! This struck me as really strange as well. Fair enough that she refrains from explaining the most technical details from a more advanced civilisation, but this just did not make sense.

Could it be some sort of magic component? Say for example that the crest is by its very nature an effect on genetics, but is inherited magically through lay lines, wand sharing or some such?

what so the LN get cut sort compared to WN, i mean this whole part with the queen take over also didnt happen in WN, the whole underground city and its ancient people got different approach in Wn too thought it did might get close to WN with how its goes here

if we talking about the King(MC father) from WN, he actually already know about MC true power even why he send him there, in there also conflict with MC brother but its didnt involve black calamity since this thing more talked in future chapter in WN not in this comparable arc of WN
