Japanese culture is centered around aliens. They have holidays for aliens. They killed hundreds of thousands of japanese men to free aliens. They listen to alien music. They elect an alien as their president. They dress and act like aliens. They draw the entirety of their modern culture from aliens. They post sassy gifs about aliens. They watch sportsball in worship of aliens. Their biggest event of the year involves throwing parties in honor of aliens playing sports. Their cities are completely overrun with aliens. They worship their SQUIDbot police force disproportionately filled with aliens and their global police force of soldiers filled with aliens. Their men sit around watching alienball while their women sit around watching alien talk shows. They worship aliens like the ones that destroyed the asteroid while attacking the japanese who actually built their country before the aliens took over. Their movies are filled with aliens and their music charts are topped by aliens. They send aliens to the Olympics and celebrate when the aliens win because those aliens are true red blooded japanese aliens. They watch alien porn to a point where "BAC" does not make them think of an international media company but about alien penises instead. They will tell you how much they hate aliens and how the mutt's law meme is a stale joke and they are just pretending to love aliens but the evidence speaks for itself in that Japan has always been and will be a nation of alien loving aliens.

Very cool manga. Eating corpses to dispose of them reminded me of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley which I am very fond of

The character design in general seems to be quite derivative.
Like, the two mcs and the colour pages reminded me of Denji and Aki from chainsaw man, the aliens design reminds me of PunPun, the female MC with their gender-ambigious appearance of Hellsings Schrödinger... but also simultanously of FMAs edward elric - temper, short stature, braids and a coat.


Or maybe I'm just getting old and read too much manga, who knows?

How is the alien boss glamorized? Dude is sweating it out in a sweatshop because he is too cheap to run the AC. He beats his workers who talk back. That is 100% a stereotype of Chinese and Indian bosses. Ain't no American going to work without AC and have the balls to beat an employee.

I've known Chinese and especially Indians that have told me stories of abuse they have been subjected to or have witnessed. Hell, even Indian PhD grad students had hands put on them for not getting expected experimental results from an Indian PI (stopped by an American grad student btw). It's a stereotype for a reason.

Soften your Reddit hate boner for Americans and Westerners for just a minute and actually read the Manga. Author is ripping on all immigrant bad behavior.

The Alien BOSS isn't being glamourized but the Aliens in particular are. There's people on TV saying how great the Aliens are. There's national holidays celebrating the Aliens saving the Earth, the Aliens get preferential treatment in housing, entire company's higher ups are Aliens...etc.

The Aliens are clearly in the superior social, economic and cultural position to humans in every point in the story. None of this applies to Chinese or Indian nationals (or indeed any other nationality other than white) in Japan.

How can you call it xenophobic when they have a legitimate reason to hate them? An alien killed his family and got off scot-free, its entirely reasonable for him to hate them. I like a based manga as much as the next guy, but so far this all seems pretty tame and not really worth a fuss over yet.

Is it legitimate to hate an entire species based off your interactions with a few? I mean it's not like they know the aliens are secretly evil or something (which they may very well be)
