The protagonists eat an alien corpse to dispose of it.

The girl says it tastes like squid.
And? The Japanese in the comic are still being outright displaced and abused by the aliens, in both how law is applied (aliens apparently can just assault their workers) and how fair their pay is. That shounen-esque absurd plotline about eating aliens certainly places some doubt on the author's intention, but the seriousness with which low wages caused by mass immigration (something large corporations are known to abuse to avoid paying workers their fair due & keep salaries low) and a culture revolving around the pseudo-worship of aliens as saviours that you aren't allowed to criticise are tackled runs against that.

Like I said, it remains to be seen.

It really doesn't. You suspect that this is going to shape up to be some allegory for mass migration (or perhaps, that it'll otherwise be substantially applicable), but in this narrative, Earth has systematically been made a colony of a technologically superior alien species who may or may not have staged the crisis from which they saved Earth, and who has leveraged that salvation for a peaceful takeover where they're exalted in the world governments (probably), corporations, and society in general. They have also integrated into human society their superior technology from which humans benefit.

Nothing about that resembles a mass migration scenario except for the explosive increase of a foreign people. What it does resemble, is the beginnings of a colonialist effort.

With the way the narrative started, it's far more likely-- if the author was intentional about this first chapter and is intending any social commentary-- for this to be a critique of colonialism and "neocolonialism"... but our protagonists just ate one of these aliens, the girl remarked that the alien tasted like grilled squid, and their current plan is to hunt the aliens (who, despite their reputation, have consistently been presented as jerks) as though they were game.

It's almost certainly shaping up to be a simpler story of fighting back against an extraterrestrial invasion (by eating the extraterrestrials).

I just want to be part of the thread before the jannies sweep through. Wouldn't be surprised if they pre-emptively lock every thread from here on out lol

See? This is why I already love this manga. I literally said "I am going to post bait" and then I posted bait and someone still bit even though I literally warned everyone it was bait. People hold certain groups in such contempt that they can't help themselves. I'm going to have the fondest memories of this manga and it is going to have nothing to do with the manga itself. Poking retards with a stick and watching them jump is too much fun. :meguusmug:
Dude you're so cool for posting rage bait man I wish I have enough time and dedicate my life to post bait just like u man ❤️

there's something almost schizophrenic in the way only the MCs are repeatedly punched by the aliens. No one else is shown to experience this and are confused when its pointed out even though the MCs are bruised and bleeding. The car crash in reverse is also so strange.

Nomamoto says she hasn't eaten meat in years.
Kitami was disgusted by the smell of baked meat... doesn't this implies that maybe he also hasn't eaten meat for some time?
Maybe there's something in the meat that is "brainwashing" people?

You might be onto something, the termination letter is also weird since we're seeing what the MC saw rather than what it actually said.

Now on one hand I could take a deep dive and have my mental meerkat work over its allotted hours, run on his wheel at a rate, that can only be described as unbearably unbearable, or...I could just take a dip in a certain kiddy pool and project myself on to the main characters...either way my next few playthroughs of destroy all humans are likely going to leave me with a rather large mixed bag of various feelings...
