Interesting fact: when you get your adult teeth, a gene switches on to tell your teeth to stop growing replacements. If that gene did not exist we would just constantly be growing teeth. There's a gene therapy they're testing out right this very moment to allow people to grow new teeth.

I wanted to say that if we try that we might end up with teeth that are easier to lose, since the next set are just under the surface, but then I remembered that there are people trying to revive bacteria and fungus from before the dinosaurs, and I think I would rather live with itchy, perpetually "just coming in" teeth, rather than reality becoming one of those straight to streaming B movies.

Frankly, I've always found this surprising because you would expect doctors to be one of those professions where people have the most dexterous hands. I guess it's like with musicians, when you can have divine sleight of hand, which doesn't help you anywhere except playing the guitar.

I can never get tired of reading more Dungeon Meshi. I'd read an entire new series about Laios' reign.

But it's great that Ryoko Kui puts so much thought into worldbuilding. For example the stuff about long-lived races growing multiple sets of teeth. It makes perfect sense and I've wondered for a while how living hundreds of years would work if you had only one set of adult teeth like humans; it's hard enough to keep all your teeth by the age of 70!
