It was back when Laius was talking about his past on the island (Ch 52, page 7). Judging by the lines Chilchak draws between them, she probably left the party after marrying someone from their party, who didn't much fancy Laius...

This chapter has solidified my suspicion that Marcille might be a teenager or pre-teen.
The math for elf aging just doesn't add up unless that other theory I've seen about the elves knowing the secret to immortality and keeping it a secret from the other races via their aggressive policies has skewed her society's views on adulthood.
