This is like the tenth time this manga has done the "look at how happy these characters are" only for something horrible to happen.

Theory time: I'm guessing that in the original timeline, the prince died because the demon king became too powerful after absorbing all the bosses. Then Ageha came as the next one to slay him. After some tries with save and load, Ageha finds out that the Demon King infinitely revives. The only way then to stop him from reviving is sealing him inside Ageha which is why there's a Dark Ageha. Because Dark Ageha can't be fully stopped, there was no other way than to seal Ageha in the dungeon along with puppet sword which was the Demon King's weapon.

Man, I can't tell if Eligion being able to stand and talk while missing his spine and a portion of his lungs is an indicator that something else is happening, or if it's just a very healthy dose of artistic license with anatomy.
Looks like a standard case of "LN author described some chuunibyou shit, so here's some chuunibyou shit".

I love that the story's going back to its roots, but seriously, the protagonist is way too trusting. 🤦‍♂️ When they got on those carriages, I honestly thought the group might be planning to off him because of his screw-ups and the danger he put them in.

It's wild how he's still so gullible! You'd think after everything he's been through, he'd learn. But no, by the end of this arc, I'm betting he'll just go back to being that typical naive Japanese protagonist you see all the time in manga. Those characters feel so innocent, especially when you compare them to the sharp and confident leads in Korean manhwa.
