I love that the story's going back to its roots, but seriously, the protagonist is way too trusting. 🤦♂️ When they got on those carriages, I honestly thought the group might be planning to off him because of his screw-ups and the danger he put them in.
It's wild how he's still so gullible! You'd think after everything he's been through, he'd learn. But no, by the end of this arc, I'm betting he'll just go back to being that typical naive Japanese protagonist you see all the time in manga. Those characters feel so innocent, especially when you compare them to the sharp and confident leads in Korean manhwa.
