Agreed. [リューカ] feels like it was definitely meant to be Japanese wordplay, and they (the official release) just went with the lowest effort translation of "Leuca" because it's written the same as the first half of "leucadendron", which is also definitely intentional because the -ka ending to a girl's name (written as [花] but homonym to [カ]) means "flower", BUT the [カ] "chikara" kanji (rather than katakana's ka; yes, they look the same) means "power".

So basically.
Ryuuka = Girly Dragon
Ryuuka = Dragon Flower (and remember that flowers in general assert femininity)
Ryuuka = Dragon Power
Ryuuka = Leuca(dendron)

It's a four-for-one wordplay!

How the hell would anyone see a type of tree fit into this? Also: Leuca … leukos … white … for someone with the nickname of Obsidian Queen? Who's chief translator for the official release, Jamie Marchi? Katrina Leonoudakis? Because murricans can't be trusted to pronounce ryu reliably and would read it as raiu, just like they tend to corrupt Hyundai into haiundai? (valid concern, tbh) Now it's Leuca, which people would pronounce like in, what, Lucozade? Congratulations, your fearsome dragon just got turned into a soft drink.
