@Otakeal I agree that it was obvious. I chose the word guessed cause until it is confirmed the author can always make a different reason for her following the Hero Party. I do agree that is was a very obvious that some type of charm was being used.

Hopefully Kaido has had experience recognizing and breaking mind control like Gran is using. Will be a toss up between Gran trying to escort her away without meeting Kaido again or having her try to convince Kaido she wants to go with Gran. In any case, hope Gran gets a through beating and the harshest sentence for his crimes along with his crooked party. Hopefully Liza left the party after realizing he was controlling her or trying to. Her leaving the party would explain why Gran wants Carol back. Although if she's still in party and a willing accomplice to their crimes she can hang with them.
@Magicat It's obvious to us Gran is using some kind of charm or mind control magic on her, but she doesn't know because her thoughts always went hazy when he reapplied it to her and was forced to prioritize following his orders right after he did it. That, was made to believe in love with him, was always abused by the others to make her mentally weak and more susceptible, and he always phrased his orders in a way that got what he wanted without arousing her or any possible witness' suspicions. Also, the template for his control tends to have it enervate emotions or thoughts to question or resist, easier to control her the more the effect is stacked and continuously reapplied without letting the effect wear off (which in this case meant she was always whammied for two years.)
