There's nothing wrong with this story so far, and it's only chapter 1. Can't people bother waiting and seeing?

I like the story so far. Gran is set up as an antagonist (with an unaware MC), and his exploiting the kind MC makes her seem more likable. The struggle builds conflict for the next few chapters.

Her will power is disappointingly low, but it is the first chapter.
