...this scene is pretty bland when it's told from a 3rd person POV huh? Or more like the entire story tbh...
Goes to show how brilliant the writing in the original novel was ig.
I think its fine, it's more that this is like a speedrun of the story without many pages/panels.
Certainly there is some stuff that is lost when adapting a introspective type story to one like manga(or any book for that matter). But there are countless examples of it being done really well. It's a simple case of different mediums having different things they do really well, and all mediums depending on execution.
As seen in the Harry Potter movies, or the Fate Stay Night anime adaptations.
Harry is much more passive in the movies, since most of his sarcarm and anger is kept inside his head. There are a few scenes, but not enough.
And Shirou is much less... "reasonable" without his dialogue showing all his survivor's guilt. For example, he did not just refuse being saved by Archer in UBW because he disliked him in the visual novel, he blamed himself for the whole situation and thus did not want Archer to get involved.
honestly I'm curious as to how this will be solved. I'm dumb so I can't really figure out a way to end the whole saint-witch cycle thing.
thanks for the chapter!
Seems to me like the Witch being killed by the Saint is kinda important. Since only they can hurt the other and all.
And no matter what Elrise can fake being a Saint, but can't hurt the others no matter what.
I think the Witch's energy that was gathered will be the key, though. Both from the assassin, from not long ago, and from the amulet she gave Vernel when he was young to protect him from that same energy. Maybe she will weaponize it, since it is the Witch's own energy it probably can hurt her.
