He thought that, since he was not as bad as the original Elrise, Supletive would only try to force him into fitting his Saint ideals instead of complaining about her AND trying to make the main route's girl fit his Saint ideals.
But he already does, so instead of a stalker lecturer he got a stalker fanboy that became friends with the stalker fangirl bodyguard.

Also, about something else...
The way he was talking seemed like he was afraid of Eternia becoming a villain like the original Elrise, but thew images showed the sick girl. She did not seem like Eternia to me? Am I mistaken? Or was she another route girl that I forgot was explained, and he was thinking about if she would become like the original Elrise to take her place since he is her now?

[EDIT] Please disregard that. For some reason, I had in mind that Eternia and Elrise had the same hair color, so I thought the one shown was someone else.

In the chain of adaptations, certain elements will always end up trimmed, especially ones that are on the more extreme end of things that wouldn't be fit for a wide scale distribution. Beyond even that point, with the page count the chapters get, that would simply have taken far too much to do.

Well while WN is the original, most of the time, wn was considered as a rough draft. While I haven't read the wn / ln, most of the time if ln exist then the manga and anime will take the ln ver instead. So maybe the change already happen in the ln and the manga just copy it as is, or it's just the manga ver. change to keep it PG enough.

Well, to be precise, this version of him...Okay this isn't really a spoiler because he explicitly gives an explanation in writing in this very chapter, but it's played for laughs so it might not be clear at first read how serious he's being.

But basically, normally in "game canon" he had been a complete misanthrope since childhood that thought the Saint is the one, only good thing in the world.

Here he accidentally crossed paths with Elrise when she was burninating monsters to save villagers or whatever and basically got a reality check. The problem wasn't the world, it was him. And occasionally some legitimately bad individuals but, like, he became self aware that the reason the world looked so horrible was mostly his own baggage. The Saint thought people were worth saving so what did he know? So as of right now in the manga timeline he's mostly just a weirdo with obsessive tendencies, rather than a complete monster.

Basically not only is Elrise different from her game-canon self, Ment is a different person too. He probably wouldn't harass Eterna as much even if he found out her nature. Still'd probably be a weirdo but less controlling and all that. The very fact he's capable of getting along with Leila is proof of his growth.
