It's rather difficult to imagine how something like this would be in RL, but perhaps decades from now one might buy an android modelled after a deceased person. It seems meaningless, but it might not be for a grieving individual. Cloning a deceased person wouldn't obviously be the same, since the clone would be a real human. Naturally the mythological tanuki here and a factory-made android aren't the same, but such creatures don't exist in RL.
