you are maybe kinda right the system usually reward exp for killing monster and demon kind and doesn't give any bonus for killing citizens so that make it the system is evil as well as the hero
and for anybody defending the mc he could made truce with elf kind(convince the princess he is gonna return the her teacher ) since the old elf is his property once the raid fail he could return her to her kind and improve his diplomatic relationship with the elfs
