To clear some confusion about MC's tastes - he is only attracted to competent and smart women, the "damsel in distress" type for him is like crap on sole of his shoe, that includes #1 most beautiful woman in Fantasia that he will meet later. As for stupid or scheming/troublemaker women, he actively goes out of his way to abuse or even at worst kill them, and is proud of it.
His treatment of Lanuvel comes from that - he respects her competence as a God-tier support, but since he knows she is a secret troublemaker he keeps her in her place.
