Most of things that we can find in manga actually somehow relate to the real world and the meanings reflect it. If we had to do it with this manga things would get quite ridiculous. The whole point of it is to fight the bad fate that was put on us against our will, that's fine, but the problem arises with the way its shown, the main character kills people and uses them to get the most value possible, because he considers them as the part of his bad fate. All of it is also justified by the whole amount of time he spent suffering by other people. What was it.. 10 years? Imagine a person to which only bad things happen for this time and thinks of himself as a total victim of it. There is something wrong with it and I'll tell you what. You always have a choice no matter what situation. The choices you make in life matter to you and other people so you always gotta take responsibility for them. The idea of this guy is that he took every bad choice and is not happy with bad ending. That's really funny.. Also.. Humans can accommodate to any place and any situation. We will find ways to laugh and joke even at the brink of the death and 10 years is a lot of a time. If it was me I'd start thinking after few months about "what if I will stay here forever" and future itself, and by it I mean friends, family, that kinda stuff. But this guy did not. That's inhuman. Great example of proper humanity is Overlords Momonga who even though can kill thousands without blinking he pays a lot of attention to his subordinates and also Rou from Re:Monster who does the same.. Yeah, by all of it I meant the main character didn't became bad cause of things that happened to him, but he was bad from the start. Some people have a few screws missing and he is one of them.. or he is just simply badly written blank character.
"Yo, but this is only a fantasy and they are just NPC's.. who cares if you kill them.." I guess that's right, but is this only me who can empathize with these characters? Killing in games is normal nowadays and that's fine, but not many of them just let a player purely enjoy abuse on a good people or civilians, aaaand then go a step further and try to justify it..
I've met a lot of people who take peace in being a victim and that's why I fucking hate this character. I hope author of this story doesn't in anyway self-relate to him..

Good points, but you got one thing wrong. He didn't do bad things for 10 years, he did everything expected of him for 10 years. The 'bad' only came right before the end.
Should we condemn our heroes for a single misstep? Then there are no heroes at all, since they are all human.

They made him into what he is, not just with abuse in general. The abuse is what made him finally turn upon them in the end for revenge, but the mental capability to murder them in cold blood was something they imbued in him. From what we see with the flashback to the training and the beatings they would basically torture him to get him to kill on command, he refused to kill people at first so they started with animals and then moved on from there. The scenario itself where the hero has to wade through rivers of blood in order to face the big bad is essentially made to breed killers completely apathetic to the value of life, especially since a lot of those murdered will have been human. Bad humans? Probably for most part, but most of them never did anything to him, his abusive companions did though. And I wager that they aren't any more virtuous than some of the things he were set to kill in his quests. He certainly isn't a good person, but I don't think he's really evil either. He's simply been conditioned to killing without remorse for a decade.

People are just like that when, you give them goody 2 shoe heroes, they complain, when we have a real trash hero, they complain again!! Everyone has got there reasoons, but such types of MCs polarise people!
I, for one also don't like goody 2 shoes because I can't get myself to believe that they are inherently good when they are killing beasts for experience, money, food, etc.. To be they just seem like hypocrites!!

Neither do I!! It is a potential 8 material, but then again the trashy mc leads to too many 1s (more than 10% '1 rating' costing it 8->7)!!

Read Kemono Michi, from konosuba creator, a pro-wrestler animal lover (and furry) get summoned to kill monters/demons, he procedes to beat the princess after hearing that and opening an animal shop full of monsters; expect lots of useless people and trashy females.

I would like a serious one, which questions the ethics behind killing beasts etc...
I know some mangas which expand the compassion to beyond humans, but to just like demons, elfs etc.. The human like creatures only!!
Then there are some who include dragons etc.., but only the most powerful creatures!
And then there are many who expand the compassion towards cute animals!!
But none of them covers the wide variety of species which exist on the planet. The compassion is too narrow in scope!!

The main characters thoughts feelings and motivations as well as the basic plot are summarized within the first chapter. The MC want's to go home and live a decent life as a decent person. He killed most of his party at the end because they were terrible people who abused him, this is further explained throughout the story up to the current chapter 37. The gods of the place are in fact terrible and attempting to force their world view upon him.
The main characters behavior, morality and ethics are undoubtedly questionable but only really wrong in the way he goes about achieving his objectives. He's been forced to play nice with monsters after becoming intimately familiar with them because the gods did not like the outcome despite establishing an unreasonable scenario for cultivating a heroic mindset. His reaction is sane, he is normal.

@home7 I dropped this manga at 14th chapter. I guess there is some backstory given later on, but 2 volumes are enough to understand the premise, and you are clearly missing few logic points on what you said. You say it's fine if he killed these bad people, cause they were horrible.. but does that really gives him the right to kill them? Any sane person would question it.. "If I kill him, I will be just like him. A MURDERER..".. and from there there is a path of KILL and NOT KILL. If you kill you will satisfy your revenge, and do what you think is right, but also you will lose. He did it. Thanks to this he lost the right to come back to his world, that makes perfect sense! Even if he did return he wouldn't be what he once was and wouldn't be able to fit there cause of all the experience he had. He is no longer just a young boy. He is a human that is capable of murder. Who knows if he would be able to control himself in the face of what society these days is. I kinda get the law in this fantasy world kinda malfunctioned, but in the current era world law is absolute. There'd be no "cause they were bad people".. But.. what if he choose NOT TO KILL? What if he took every bad thing they threw him on face, accepted it and just followed it silently. Sure it'd be painful, but learning how to control the urge of doing what we want is what differs us from animals, and only people who manage to do it are able to live in society. He wasn't able to do it.
I think I get too deep into this shit.. way too deep.. I mean it's not some best selling book from famous author, just a casual manga(or webtoon idk w/e) and for it it may actually be considered even GOOD among all of these isekai shit we get nowadays. I love isekais, and read even the shit ones, I also love simple stories with almost no plot, character development and only fan-service, but there are few of these stories that trigger me at every fucking level. I feel sick reading these. If not my aspiration to rate mangas objectively I'd rate this 1/10, but I rated it 3/10 cause it at least had good art.
