I hate this. You can't retroactively fix the butterfly effect of a broken live penalty. It completely compromises the competitive integrity of how those final laps were raced. If a clearly incorrect penalty can be overturned a week later, why not a month later? Or after another race?

This just in - FIA announces that they have retroactively applied a penalty to Nico Rosberg in the 2016 Australian Grand Prix, moving Lewis Hamilton to first in both that race and the Drivers' Championship for the season.
