What she says about the gene is completely true. The tests in space are based on truth but a little different, from what I can find. The worms that were damaged and then brought into space were much more likely than the control group on Earth to develop 2 heads. Arguably the larger takeaway is that the worms displayed different behavior and microbiomes after 20 months back on Earth, including regenerating 2 heads when both were removed.
