This whole pre-story arc seems like an after thought to everything that already took place in the main story. Doesn't feel natural to how the story started if they were going to do this perspective switch, they should have done it 100 chapters ago.

This. I'm really kinda hoping its an actual redemption arc. I mean we've all pretty much rooted for her downfall. If this really was the result of possession by a shitty god... and she did it to save his life, I'd be willing to forgive. I mean Raoul has enacted a pretty lengthy punishment so far. I feel that might be enough atonement for her crimes, especially seeing as she might have had little control over it.
