Yeah, not a fan of this chapter, but the resolution was needed. I was hoping Kaede would figure it out without needing Moko to say it explicitly. Like, there's something juvenile about the whole "you need to say exactly what I need to hear" which is age appropriate, but is resolved too neatly for this to be satisfying.

I thought this is the last chapter, all those GL ending after confession sure did a number on me LOL. I hope the next chapters delve into how inexperienced Moko is and how shallow her interpretation of love, and by extension, romantic relationship is. I'd want to see how Kaede and Moko would navigate the conflict that will arise because of that.
Rather than “shallow interpretation” honestly I think Moko had no interpretation. This series is very similar to the vampire sugar loving girl manga, where half vampire half human learns about human experiences. It’s not that they chose to not understand it, it’s that they didn’t have the opportunity to learn before.

I didn’t understand at first what Kaede was insecure about. Momoko shows her love in actions. But Kaede (and many people) need validation verbally, even if Momoko thinks it should all be so obvious through action, we know from the Shiori story of how sensitive to other people Momoko really is. She had noticed for the past several chapters that Kaede didn’t seem really happy. Kept pushing the thoughts down but she had them. But kept asking for communication and remained open and vulnerable to Kaede, which (thankfully from what she learned) is what kept her attentive to Kaede even after that rejection. I could see myself not wanting to chase after Kaede from the mixed signals. Saying “no that’s not it!” When asked if she fell out of love but also physically rejecting intimacy. She learned after talking with Shiori though that small words have great effects and her chasing after Kaede shows the significance she has.

yeah - my read on this story, is a portrayal of different forms of loving a person, and how discrepancies in what Person A might recognize versus what Person B might recognize, can create issues that risk the breaking of a relationship between them--established or hypothetical.

Kaede requires that verbal affirmation - perhaps that has something to do with being an avid reader, with no real personal experience? Where so many stories, by virtue of being written down, rely on verbalized declarations between people in love, I could see an argument where Kaede has internalized that as the "way to express" one's emotions and intent.
But as you said - Momoka is very "show don't tell", and we know that blew up in her face with Shiori, after a fashion. Incongruent methods of expression one's feelings, but that first time, it wasn't surmounted, and things fell apart for her.
That, coupled with everyone in Momoko's life calling her doll-like for her apparent lack of expressiveness, and she'd have very mixed signals on whether she is expressing her feelings in a way they're understood.
But she tried all the same, and Kaede, for her part, was largely receptive and reciprocated by affirming Momoko as a person, and as a person worth loving.

The disconnect being that Kaede wanted that verbal affirmation in return, not recognizing Momoko's actions as the equivalent. She knew that Momoko was expressive, but didn't--or couldn't--interpret her actions as the love she sought.

Luckily - they both have made a point of communicating, and as you said, Momoko learned to not simply give up in the face of wanting something (from Kaede, no less), and so this chapter was the result.

Hopefully, assuming this continues past this bit, Kaede can learn Momoko's love language, and they learn how to communicate meaningfully even if their "voices" aren't identical.

Nice and all that they make up. still find the misunderstand kinda meh.
I would much more prefer mangaka start to do "wait, did she start to like me ?, do did mean i have a chance", can do the same "won't they, will they" but much more in-line with the original premier. Or at least make Minato the one seek for question, Instead of the "my crush who say she never know love, start to throwing herself at me, what could that mean ??? :wtf: anyways let feel sad then run always"

This was a great chapter and wholesome.
Not sure if this is the end or it will continue but either way it’s a great story.

I guess people didn't like it when miscommunication is a huge issue in one of the author's early oneshot, so now we have this sweet thing instead xD

Hang on... Now, i might not be the smartest crayon in the toolshed, but... If you swap chocolates, then feed each other - wouldn't you just be eating your own chocolate, at the end of the day?

I love how the Reiwa romance manga meta is just proper open communication and how it always leads to peak. Just perfect.

still being fed to you by your lover, which is the operative point, I think.
