telling akari's back story is the point itselfthis better have a point
i swear mangadex viewers have no comprehesion bc this chapter was showing us a glimpse of akari outside of being jirou’s love interesttelling akari's back story is the point itself
I don't think its pointless and or that is "a ship that sailed", every relation platonic or not changes us. We are learning how the first crush of Akari changed her for the better or the worst. Even if Tenjin is past it doesn't mean that the memory Akari has of Tenjin is, even more, we are learning why she is so laid back. Maybe this argument with Jirou will make her re think her life and she will chose a new career or maybe she will grow distant with her and we are getting an inside of why the argument resolves that way. Thinking backstory is unnecessary is just hatting the masterpiece this show is, or not understanding it. If you want cute romance with sexual elements go read some doujinI'm assuming this will lead to give us some insights of Akari's personality that becomes important in her relationship with Jirou, because as others said, a flashback of her crush for Tenjin feels pretty pointless at this point of the story.
The problem is, it feels too late for this flashback. Would've been more fitting if it happened while Akari still has a crush on Tenjin, or immediatly after she moved on from him to give full closure. Now her previous unrequited crush isn't really relevant for the story so spending time on that feels weird. Unless, as I mentioned, author intends to give us some new elements to get a better understanding of Akari's personality.I don't think its pointless and or that is "a ship that sailed", every relation platonic or not changes us. It did in fact have a point. Still think this particular flashback should’ve been shown a long time ago, but it worked out fine. Gave us, and Jirou, some backstory to Akari, helped Jirou to understand Akari better and helped develop their relationship, and helped to make Jirou understand he was in the wrong. Overall a nice mini-arc.I hope this has a point, because I really don’t care about anything between her and Tenjin. That ship sailed a long time ago.
Cause like, you’re telling me I waited a month for a new chapter just for it be a backstory on a crush that died like 50 chapters ago?
