No it wasnt axed. The author just wanted to end it on their terms. God the amount of people that scream axe when a manga ends sooner then you expected is actually perplexing.

The story feels like it's locking down and ending, and it doesn't feel forced or overly comedic or any cliche thing. It feels wholesome.

The author could milk this for another 30 chapters, but it would be filler in the end. So I am actually glad to see an author that want to end it on their own terms where it needs to.
