It's 'cause the raws that we got were of bad quality, so they had to upscale them. Well, I got your point. I'll talk it out with Boss and see if it can be fixed. That stuff is not my area of expertise, so yeah. And we had to do this batch release on the fly to nip it with Rithar once and for all, anyway.

The thing with AI upscaling is that if you use it on raws that don't have noise in the first place, you get the weird artifacts like you did in this chapter. It works wonders on some of comic walker's raws which are of low quality, not so much here. In my opinion the direct ripped raws which are 1600 are fine, I could understand if they were 1200 but 1600 looks good enough in most cases.
Easiest is probably just switching them out with volume raws when you've got that though.
