It wasn't bad, even though it was partly ruined by explaining it all to the suspect. You might say it was all theater for the sake of the real culprits eavesdropping, but that doesn't change the fact it was abnormal. There's no logic in explaining to the criminal the mistakes that led to getting caught. It means that given a second chance, the criminal could avoid the same mistakes. In this case, the spying vampires could learn from it. That scene was a bit jarring, honestly.
