I always found those kinds of settings annoying, what kind of country would try to get rid of someone they summoned just cause their skills sound shit? While keeping them alive and safe would be cheap, offing them can only backfire (friends might become disobedient) and is a waste of valuable resources (perhaps most of all as a hostage). Knowledge of another world is always worthwhile (even if it is same or lower tech-level, at least stories could be sold if the world isn't a serial-offendersummoner), and otherwise could be interrogated used to get information that helps you keep the others happy and compliant.
Worse is how in many of those stories, the thing classified as trash is only such relative to the others but is above-average when compared to peasants, making it worthwhile to give the person a commoner's job.

If absolutely nothing else, rather than throwing away, why not use as an exotic 'servant'.

@feha : Summoning is normally done as a desperation move, or to procure high power living weapons.

With the living weapon scenario, getting rid of the defect makes a twisted sense, the summoned are not people to them in that scenario, and they care nothing for their ultimate fate, they are likely planning to dispose of them in the end anyway, so why keep someone around that "real people" might get attached to.

Plus even if they realize modern scientific knowledge could be valuable (which they might not, it would be to easy for them to be arrogant over their magic, and likely do not care about the peasantry living better lives) the one individual likely does not carry any information that can not be extracted from the rest.

As to morale, and keeping them in line, there are multiple ways to handle the disposal, those used to using terror and oppression will likely use the same if they think they can get away with it. But other cases they try to mask it like they seemed to be trying here. Though alot these stories have them resort to other means of control.

in the next episode we will ignite and dismantle a whole castle at no cost what so ever. We will also use that nice life form detection skill which carries slightly different name.
