No, but there is some thing about rabbits and the moon in Japanese myths, so probably is a reference to that, like Goku in dragon ball classic sending a Villain to the moon because he was a rabbit, and rabbits belong in the moon.

East Asians don't see a man/face in the moon like Westerners do. They somehow see a rabbit on the moon's surface, specifically a rabbit pounding mochi. Apparently lunar pareidolia works differently over in East Asia than it does in the West.
