All said, this was a good ending, the best we could possibly ask for in these circumstances. At least, we didn't get left off at some random cliffhanger.
Big props to the author for giving it a shot! And thanks for the amazing manga / translation!!!
I thought that was a timeskip for a second there...
Obviously rushed, complete with shounen physics. I don't mind that actually.
Somehow he can actually give up being a rabbit after turning into one, and she can control her powers now after all this drama? To be honest that's pretty weak.
So yeah, a bit of an unsatisfying ending. I also didn't know the author asked for help here in the comments section... so I hope I didn't come across as too harsh if they ran across my comments.
EDIT: The strike reactors do NOT help the author become a better writer.
Back in Chapter 7, he made 2 comments pleading people to buy or the manga risk getting axed. The original ones have been removed but you can still find a quote of it here
nosebleed did reach out to Satoshi-sensei via Twitter and he confirmed these comments were indeed made by him. That was the sole reason we started encouraging people to buy the JP vol starting from C8.
Either read my school essay or skip all of this and read the spoiler below (or read neither):
Ngl, while I do not think this is a bad manga ( it was fun to read at least in the beginning chapters for me); I would rate this more as a 6 or 7. The premise is interesting but it does not really get explored as much as it should. For example, Female Mc is a wolf girl that transforms whenever Male Mc bleeds; but, shouldn't she also transform if anyone else bleeds since it is kinda proven that there are other animals in the school? I feel like that would give a new dyanmic to play with. Because him bleeding and her transforming uncontrollably did felt too repetitive and cliched. Also the lack of urgency for our male mc to find out why he did not know he was a rabbit this whole time or why there are wolf/ animal people was weird.
I am dissatisfied with how the issue with the older sister got shown and resolved. With how much the sister was trying to prove that our mcs could not be together, you would think either she was in a relationship with a rabbit boy/human boy and she harmed him accidently or the sister's boyfriend actually got spooked when he first saw her wolf appearance. Nope, dude just a douche and her issue gets resolved by having basically a pep talk with her younger sister's friends (not with the two mcs that are in the relationship, her younger sister's friends that do not know what trait the older sister is talking about). That does not make the older sister in the right nor does it even give her side of the argument any leg to stand on. The dad was still best character for me and you can not stop me from thinking that.
Also there are four different animals in the school: wolf, rabbit, cat, and crow and only two of them have an actual connection to a folklore (moon rabbit and white tengu crow). That confused me because I would have thought all animals would have reference to some folklore like twin-tailed cat(nekomata)/ bakeneko. It's fine that it did not happen ;but, it would have been interesting addition to the story.
I understand this was axed and I feel bad saying all of this
; but, honestly the story felt aimless after a few chapters in and it is kind of a miracle that this was allowed to reach its conclusion. Although, I find it funny that the only way for them to be together is for the Male mc to give up his rabbit side just so the female mc does not lose control. I do have other things I want to say but I think keeping this from getting too long is for the best.
It is a 6 or 7 to me, because while the premise and story was interesting, it lost the interest some chapters ago and either a gimmick ended up being too repetitive or an interesting premise was not fully developed / felt disappointing to me. I feel for the author/artist but that does not mean I should pretend the direction of the story did not feel aimless to me. Axe or not, the (plot) holes are still there.
I liked it but ngl it's kinda underwhelming cuz i wanted grandma to talk to the mother. I really wanted to read more into the past of his parents and all that
I loved this, I even did my part with the sales. Just such a shame it ended like this. Just another one on the pile. But I did enjoy it while it lasted.
