The Japanese military should have EM interference equipment ready to be used near the gate. It would majorly piss off folks in nearby office buildings, probably, but so what? They are likely already disturbed by the smoke, grenades, and noise from the rioters.

This series has always been JSDF military propaganda. They've complained about protesters, reporters, and civilian leaders and oversight boards, and ever foreign military from the very start.

Not really i mean gate doesnt have the same appeal as 4-5 years ago a lot of people stopped reading for a lot of reasons , and most people that complained that gate was xenophobic just stopped reading , its like if a country mandated suicide in case of depression doing so there is no longer depressed people , its the same logic now somethong i did find hilarious is how the ''chinese protesters''(soldiers)looked more realistic in appearance than the japanese like if you are going for anime aesthetic(cartoonish) then do it for all characters not just the japanese and the people from the gate.

Yes, I was actually surprised by how a lot of things make sense in this manga (not all, of course). When there were hints of international interest of the land behind the gate, I already sensed greed and how they will try to do stuff like diplomatic pressure AND stealth operation like this to seize control of the gate. Especially, the UN will pressure Japan to surrender part of the land surrounding it to be declared as neutral zone (or basically, owned by all "humankind").

When Itami went through different gates, one was full of Xenomorph eggs. After he got back unharmed he got sick of all the medical tests and faked having a chest burster. Now he had a guard posted to observe him, so Rory decides to try and make him go away by being extremely affectionate to Itami, causing the guard to leave them alone for a few minutes. Itami is then arrested for "molesting a child" and they won't accept "but officer she was 960 years old" as an excuse
