Out of the frying pan straight to the fire.
Zorzal is an idiot thinking Italica is left unattended.

Redrawer/cleaner here, I mentioned those mistakes to the translator, will probably get them fixed by tomorrow. Proofreader seems to not be paying enough attention lately...Huh, the translation is kinda iffy for this chapter. But it's still decently readable.
they are assuming the enemy goes with the same common sense as them, which i guess is semi understandable, suddenly dealing with modern weaponry and tactics is a really big step, but the fact that the generals aren't even taking into account the possible stories they've heard of artillery (possibly described as gods wrath or something) just rains upon them without a enemy in site does show the arogance of the generals and the king, which ig is also accurate for the era they are in, assuming they are the better kinda of human and are always right until theres a gun pointed to their face and their entire army is just massacred in a 1 minute encounterYou're gonna march an army through an open plain when you know your enemies have air superiority? Are they betting that the JSDF deployed their entire force to Marles and have no reserves? Do they think they can take the city of Italica before the JSDF can respond? Either way, it's just a terrible idea because they have no way of holding the city even if they take it. A war of attrition with guerilla tactics was the better approach. Bleed our their money and men until the politics back home force them to retreat.
Because Furuta (the JSDF chef she has feelings for) is in Italica.oh no Itlica.... anyway....totally no recollection of why Tyuule is reacting like this
Isn't Youji's soul is off-limits due to Rory? I wonder what will happen first: Rory's accession or Youji's death?Rory on why there's so many shitty people: They took our souls! Dey took 'er soles!! Durka der!!
It may be true, but still a boomer thing to say.
The JSDF chef is under cover with Zorzal. He's not in Italica.Because Furuta (the JSDF chef she has feelings for) is in Italica.
Regardless, Zorzal is dumb as all hell, so wherever he goes he's going to get curb stomped.
I'd love to just disagree with this. but... I'm reminded by the Romans during the 1st and 2nd Punic war. during 1st Punic war, Romans just lost about 3 fleet along with all their crews (some 10.000 men or more), and they still ended up winning. and then during the 2nd Punic war, Rome had devastating lost at Cannae, and still ended up winning anyway. so yeah, you're right about Great Nations somehow able to absorb such amount of losses and yet still standing.A lot of empires have been this "dumb", but chugged along for centuries while slowly declining instead of collapsing. On account of the backs of strong infrastructure and civil services, and maybe an occasional brilliant ruler who fixes their forefather's mistakes, only to have it frittered away by their immediate descendants.
As it turns out, highly evolved sovereign states don't crumble easily, even when faced with war. This kind of military-minded hubris can co-exist with somewhat stable governance, and is even realistic when you observe military conflicts over the ages.
