Depending on lore, I'm gonna spitball here and point out other titles have shown mages and alchemists who are more capable of doing things than just blowing stuff up, can also influence materials in their fields of specialty with their magics. They can conceivably fabricate materials in short order, then assemble the pre-fab stuff in weeks instead of years. At the least, the top deck with the island facade can be done by Earth mages, and we know they have those. My follow-up question would be where he got the money to pay for all this.

The main purpose of this carrier is for wyverns to fly across the ocean. Wyverns are afraid flying in the ocean so they never fly far from the coast because they need land to rest. But MC needed a wyvern that could fly across the seas because, first, across the sea, Friedonia was bordered by a large island nation, the Nine Headed Dragon Archipelago. And so far there have been frequent conflicts between Friedonia and the Nine Headed Dragon, fighting over fishing grounds. Second, if the Empire is a symbol of power on land, then MC wants Friedonia to be a symbol of power on sea.

It's actually half explained either elsewhere in the manga or in the LN, but

camouflage(against humans) isn't actually the reason why it looks like an island. Wyverns will refuse to fly over open waters without being in vision of dry land, it's the reason why their battleships don't even bother with AA ballistas. It looking like a island is actually to fool the wyverns into thinking that the carrier is normal dry land and thus prevent them from panicking over open waters.

He could've named it something much better and winner, like: "This is the carrier MIDWAY" or "this is our latest carrier ENTERPRISE" or "TICONDEROGA" or "LEYTE"

he's japanese, not american. and "hiryuu" also means "flying dragon" so it is super fitting name for a wyvern-housing giant ship

I don't know if I missed it, but I don't know why they don't just make an alloy. That's typically how you deal with these problems in metallurgy.

Well, tech levels in this manga is just all over the place, even by fantasy-isekai-magic standards. Just look at their automated anti-air batteries.
