That thing about companies only want the stars, there's a type of work that is fully about background support called Back Office that every company should have at least 1 or 2 person to work on. These are works where you deal with the more mundane stuff like what is there in company pantry, contact building management if AC temperature of the office is too high or low or if lighting system is not working well, or run around for company events and such nameless works. Well, they kind of handle the more legal part of a company too if there's no specific department on it.

If this kind of work is neglected, the work quality would be affected greatly since there's no one to organize and fill in for the work anyone who should focus on bigger matters can't really spend time on. A company without these posts or similar posts is not even black and should be a sign for you to just backk the hell away.

Once I was working in a place where we were staffed with the bare minimum amount of workers to keep the place running at all times, until they hired one person to just kinda do exactly that: her tasks were mainly to just make sure that necessary administrative processes would be done on time, and for that purpose, to help out wherever needed whenever needed. She might as well have been a rockstar for how much she was celebrated for doing that by everyone.

So yeah, can confirm: it's an incredibly useful niche to fill, and absolutely in everybody's interest.
